SERVICEMASTER NB GOLF FORE THE CURE


                       

 



 GUIDELINES


Date:  August 15, 2010. 

Host Site:  Pine Needles Golf Club, (506) 532-4634

Provincial Format:

  • 4 person scramble; It is recommended that a team consists of 2 persons at or below 20.0, and 2 person at or above 20.1.  However, if there are no players below 20.0, the team can consist of all members above 20.1.  A banquet will follow play.
  • All players must be in good standings of a recognised golf association and in possesion of  a "Golf Canada Membership Card" or a recognized national equivalent.
  • Power carts are allowed and must be booked by calling the pro shop at (506)  532-4694 .

The tournament will be a shotgun start at 12:30 pm on The Pines course.

Entries and Fees: 

The  fees to play in the NB Golf Fore the Cure Provincial Tournament will be $160.00 per team.  All teams participating in the event must also raise a minimum of $400.00 in donations to accompany their entry fee.  Each team member will receive a "Golf Fore the Cure" participant package courtesy of the RCGA and the NBGA.  The NBGA will provide financial support for the winning team to go to the RCGA Scramble Fore the Cure - National Event.


Prizes:

The 1st low gross team will be declared the winner and have the first right to attend the RCGA Golf Fore the Cure - National Event.  Should they decide not to attend the RCGA Golf Fore the Cure event, 1st low net will have second right, then 2nd low gross, etc.  Draws will be made for many other prizes.

 

Forward all participants pledge sheets, donations, plus completed team entry forms, along with the $160.00 registration fee to the NBGA office prior to the entry deadline of August 6, 2010.

 

NEW FOR 2010

Those wishing to  participate in the ServiceMaster NB Golf Fore the Cure Provincial Tournament but are unable to form a full four lady team are still welcome to participate and support the cause! Simply fill out the ServiceMaster NB Golf Fore the Cure Individual Entry Form, and you will be placed on a team of 4 with other individual entries. Please note that in order to ensure that teams are accurately assigned the NBGA will accept individual entires until August 6, 2010. In addition, those not registering with a team will be required to raise a MINIMUM of $100 in donations to accompany their entry fee. The entry fee for an individual player to participate in this event will be $40 (price includes HST).

Please note that the NBGA will make every effort to form teams from individual entries that conform to the provincial format regarding team size and handicap format. However, should the NBGA be unable to form teams that meet the provincial format and should a team have members all below the stated requirements, such teams will still be eligble to play in the ServiceMaster NB Golf Fore the Cure tournament. These team members will remain eligible for door prizes but will not be eligible for the Provincial and National Prizes.

 FUNDRAISING EVENTS


Old Mill Pond

"Fore the Cure Week" Breakfast Kick-Off. The breakfast is being held on Saturday July 24 from 7:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m. The price is $8.00 per person.

The "Fore the Cure" ladies group have also produced a cookbook "From the Kitchens of the Breast of Buddies." The price for this cookbook is $10.00 and is availble at the Old Mill Pond pro shop or by contacting Jan Gatson at (506) 365-7461 or Mary Storey at (506) 365-7858.

Hillsborough Golf Club

The Hillsborough Golf Club wil be hosting their Ladies Golf Fore the Cure event on July 7, 2010. The format will be 2-player teams with a shotgun start at 6:30 p.m. To sign up please call the Pro Shop at (506) 734-6000. For more information please click here.

Fredericton Golf Club

The Fredericton Golf Club are selling tickets for a chance to win a Merganser Drake Duck, hand carved by Beth Leroux, along with a beautiful water color painting done by Sibylla Dickson; both members of the club.  The draw for the two lucky winners will be after the "Pink Ball Scramble" on July 20th.

"Sponsor a Hole" during the two week period of July 18th to August 1st.

2010 NBGA ServiceMaster Golf Fore the Cure Another Big Success

Firstly, the NBGA would like to thank Pine Needles for hosting our 2010 ServiceMaster NB Golf Fore the Cure event! From the beautifully decorated “pink” room, to the wonderful turkey dinner, Pine Needles did an outstanding job of hosting the tournament!

 

This year’s event was another major success, with 29 participating teams, together we raised $61,093.86!!  A big thank you goes out to all of the participating clubs, and everyone who helped to participate and support the cause!  A special thank you to the following clubs who raised $ 2,500 and over : Kingswood, Magnetic Hill and Country Meadows;   and also to those clubs who raised $ 5,000 and over: Hampton, Old Mill Pond, Petitcodiac, Fredericton, and Pine Needles.  A special congratulations also goes out to Sussex Golf Club who raised over $18,000. 


Finally a big thank you to all of the sponsors who helped to support the Service Master Golf Fore the Cure event. A special thank you goes out to title sponsor ServiceMaster, whose support has continued to grow this event beyond all expectations!
