Junior Teams

New Brunswick Junior Teams - Eligibilty & Selection

  Residence Eligibilty (Boys and Girls)

   Members of the NB Team shall either (1) or (2) and must be (3) of the following:

  1. A Canadian citizen and a playing member in good standing of a RCGA club or;
  2. A non-Canadian playing member in good standing of a RCGA club and is;
  3. A playing member whose main domicile is in New Brunswick and is in good standing with a NBGA member club

2010 Canadian Junior Men's Championship

New Brunswick is allotted four (4) spots under the RCGA's quota system for the Canadian Junior Championship.  Four spots are reserved for the NB JUnior Team members (see NB Junior Team below for further details on obtaining one of these spots).

In addition, the top 6 finishers at all Future Links Regional Championships (eg. Future Links Atlantics Championship) will ern exemptions to the Canadian Junior Championshp. In the case of NB players finishing in the top 6, the following will occur:

  1. If the player has not yet qualified for the Canadian Junior, he will keep the exemption.
  2. If the player has already qualified for the Canadian Junior, the spot will go to the next highest finisher (eg. 5th, 6th, etc) in the NB Team Trials.

NB Junior Team: The top twenty-one (21) competitors and ties after 54 holes of play who will not have reached their nineteenth (19th) birthday on or before August 6, 2010 will be eligible to compete for the New Brunswick Junior Team and will be invited to participate in the NB Junior Team Trials.

2010 Atlantic Championship - BOYS

Junior Team Selection

The top four Junior aged competitors from the second round of the Austin Drisdelle Realty Ltd. NB Junior Championship, aged 17 and 18 who have not reached their 19th birthday on or before August 6, 2010 will make up the NB Atlantic Championship Junior Team.

Juvenile Team Selection

The top four Juvenile aged competitors from the 2nd round of the Austin Drisdelle Realty Ltd. NB Junior Championship, aged 15 and 16 who have no reached their 17th birthday on or before August 6, 2010, will make up the NB Atlantic Juvenile Team.

Midget Team Selection

The Midget Champion, will automatically be named to represent the NBGA at the Atlantic Team Championships.  The remaining 3 spots on the Midget Team, and the alternate spot, will be selected from the top 3 Midget players after the 2 rounds of the Midget/Bantam and the first two rounds of the NB Junior Championships.  Players must not have reached their 15th birthday on or before August 6, 2010.

The fifth place competitiors in each age category will be designated the team alternate in case of an individual unable to attend the championship.

The teams will travel to the Bell Bay Golf Club (Beddeck, NS) on July 18-21, to compete in the CN Future Links Atlantic Championships.

2010 NB Junior Ladies Team Selection

NB Junior Team Qualifactions

A player meeting the above age and residence qualifcations must complete 54 holes of golf at the Austin Drisfelle Realty Ltd. NB Junior Championship.  If there is a tie in total gross scores between the 4th and 5th or for the alternate positions, following the last round of team trials, a 3-hole aggregated then sudden victoy playoff will be held.

Selection Procedure

A selection Committee comprised of the Junior Director, the Assistant Junior Director and one other member of the NBGA Executive Committee will meet to determine the NB Junior Ladies Team alternate.

  1. NBGA Team: comprised of the top 4 qualifying scores, regardless of age.
  2. One Alternate: will be selected from the low qualifying scores from the Austin Drisdelle Realty Ltd. NB Junior Championship.  The alternate may choose to attend nationals - at the expence of the player, subject to RCGA approval.
