In an effort to accommodate disabilities, the NBGA can allow, in exceptional circumstances, use of a power cart or other special equipment by a player who otherwise qualified for an amateur event and cannot, in the opinion of the Rules Committee for the competition, participate in such competition because of serious permanent physical impairment.  Such use can be denied if the Rules Committee believes that the use of such a power cart, or other special equipment, would give a player an undue advantage over the other players in the competition.

A current medical certificate along with a signed letter from the competitor's medical doctor describing the disability and explaining the player's needs, must be submitted at the time of entry.

Cellular Phones and Electronic Devices:  A local rule restricting the use of cellular phones and other electronic devices will be in effect for NBGA Class I events.  Please see the local rules distributed at each event for the exact wording of the rule.

Ties:  All ties for championships (where a trophy is awarded) will decided by a 3-hole aggregate total play-off, then sudden victory if required.  All other ties will be equalized for prize distribution.

Entry Closing Date:  Entries close at 5:00 pm on the date of closing, or when the maximum number of entries have been realized; whichever comes first.  A list of alternates will be kept in case of withdrawals or medical cancellations.

In cases where the event is over subscribed, all entries received on the date when the maximum number is surpassed will be put into a hat and drawn by lot.

Exceptions:  The Men's Amateur Championship has a provision for a qualifying round.
