| NB Junior Player of the Year Challenge |
NB JUNIOR BOYS PLAYER OF THE YEAR GUIDELINES 1. The competition is open to all male 2010 New Brunswick Golf Association (NBGA) members who meet Junior eligibility requirements. In order to qualify for the final rankings, entrants must compete in the NB Junior Championship. 2. Qualifying events for the Challenge will be all Junior Invitational Tournaments of 18 holes or more, at an NBGA member course which do not conflict with the NB Junior, East Coast Junior or Team Trials. To count, all junior events must be registered with the NBGA office no later than 15 days prior to the event, and approved by the Provincial Junior Chair. All Challenge sanctioned events will be listed on the NBGA web site. 3. In order to qualify for points, all Junior Invitational Tournaments must be open to all bantam, midget, juvenile and junior golfers and must have a minimum of 30 players. 4. In order to qualify for points, all players must play from the same set of tees. 5. All results from junior invitational events must be submitted to the NBGA no later than 72 hours after the event. 6. Points will be scored toward the CHALLENGE as follows:
7. In the event of a tie for other than first place in a qualifying tournament, points for the positions tied will be shared by the tying competitors. 8. There is no minimum or maximum limit on the number of events which may be entered by a competitor. However, only the best six (6) results of each competitor, plus his results from the NB Junior, will count in the final rankings. 9. In the event of a tie for the NB JUNIOR BOYS PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHALLENGE or any place in the final rankings, the NB Junior results shall be used to break the tie. If ties still exist between the two or more competitors, the competitor with the best ranking heading into the final qualifying event will prevail, then the second final event and so on. 10. Interim results will be published after each event on the NBGA web site. The final rankings will also be widely publicized, with the winner being described as the "NB JUNIOR BOYS PLAYER OF THE YEAR." 11. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers and will be presented at the NBGA Annual Awards Dinner, to be held in October at the Gowan Brae Golf Club in Bathurst, NB. 12. The NBGA will not be responsible for the failure of competitors to secure entry into any or all events, nor will the Junior Invitational tournaments hold space for competitors contending for the Junior Player of the Year. It is the total responsibility of the individual competitors to ensure that their entry is reserved in sufficient time to enable them to compete in specific events. In order to qualify for the final rankings, entrants must compete in the NB Junior Championship. 2. Qualifying events for the Challenge will be all Junior Invitational Tournaments of 18 holes or more at an NBGA course which: do not conflict with the NB Junior, East Coast Junior, or NB Team Trials. If a qualifying event is reduced to 9 holes, one half of the points normally allocated will be awarded. (It must be noted that when a shot-gun start is employed, and play is reduced to 9 holes, no points will be awarded because all players will not have played the same holes). Allocation of Points: A. For full points to be awarded, the tournament must have a minimum of 10 players within the factor range of 0.0 to 20.4. If fewer than 10 eligible low handicappers compete, the results will be prorated as charted below:
