2010 ALLSTAR COMMUNICATIONS NB MEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

2010 ALLSTAR COMMUNICATIONS NB MEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR - GUIDELINES


1.  The competition is open to all male amateur golfers who are 2010 members of a New Brunswick Golf Association (NBGA) member club.

2.  Qualifying events for the Competition will be all Class II Invitational Tournaments of 18 holes or more, at a member club which is in good standing; which:

  • do not conflict with the RBC Dominion Securities NB Men's Amateur Championship
  • has been properly registered with the NBGA and has paid the $100.00 registration fee
  • is held on the date published on the Allstar Communications Player of the Year poster; and
  • has a field size of not less than 25 competitors
    • full points will be awarded if the field size is 50 players or larger; if between 25 and 49 players compete, the points awarded will be reduced proportionally

 

3.  Points will be scored toward the CHALLENGE as follows:

Points will be earned according to position in the event only.  The positions of non-qualifying competitors, for example, competitors who are not members of an NBGA club, will not be disregarded for this purpose.

4.  In the event of a tie for other than first place in a qualifying tournament, points for the positions tied will be shared by the tying competitors.

5.  There is no minimum or maximum limit on the number of events that may be entered by a competitor. 

6.  In the event of a tie for the Championship or any place in the final rankings, the NB Men's Amateur results shall be used to break the tie.  If ties still exist between two or more competitors, the competitor with the best ranking heading into the final qualifying event will prevail, then the second event and so on.

7.  Interim results will forwarded to the provincial newspapers and updated on the NBGA web site.  The final rankings will also be widely publicized, with the winner being described as the "ALLSTAR COMMUNICATIONS NB MEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR."

8.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) finishers in the points Championship and will be presented at the NBGA Annual Louisbourg Investments Golf Awards Dinner, to be held in October at the Gowan Brae Golf Club in Bathurst, NB.

9.  The NBGA will not be responsible for the failure of competitors to secure entry into any or all events, nor will the Class II tournaments hold space for competitors contending for the POY Championship.  It is the total responsibility of the individual competitors to ensure that their entry is reserved in sufficient time to enable them to compete in specific events.
