BMO NESBITT BURNS (MONCTON) NB LADIES PLAYER OF THE YEAR - GUIDELINES


1.  The competition is open to all female amateur golfers who are 2011 members of an NBGA member club.  In order to qualify for the final rankings, entrants must compete in the Royale NB Ladies Amateur Championship.

2.  Qualifying events for the Competition will be all Field Days listed by the NBGA by the end of the spring provincial meeting.  A field day on the rotation will count whether it is on a 9-hole or 18-hole course, provided it meets the following conditions:

  • does not conflict with the Royale NB Ladies Provincial Championship
  • has properly registered with NBGA and paid the $100.00 registration fee
  • has a field size of not less than 20 competitors
    • full points will be awarded if the field size is 40 or larger; if between 20 and 39 players compete, the points awarded will be reduced proportionally
  • the size of the field is determined by the number of players who are playing under the same conditions; this shall include local rules.

3.  Points will be scored toward the competition as follows:

In the event of a tie, for other than first place, in a qualifying tournament, points for the positions tied will be shared by the tying competitors, and calculated to the nearest quarter, third or half point.

4.  There is no minimum or maximum limit on the number of events which may be entered by a competitor.  

5.  In the event of a tie for the Competition or any place in the final rankings, the NB Ladies Amateur Championship results shall be used to break the tie.  If ties still exist between two or more competitors, the player with the best ranking prior to the final qualifying event will prevail, then the second final event, and so on.

6.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Competition.  Interim results will be forwarded to the provincial newspapers and updated on the NBGA web site.   The final rankings will be announced following the final event.  The winner will be designated the "BMO NESBITT BURNS (MONCTON) NB LADIES PLAYER OF THE YEAR."  Prizes will be awarded at the  Awards Dinner, to be held in October.

7.  If a qualifying event is reduced to 9 holes, one half of the points normally allocated for an 18 hole championship will be awarded.  (It must be noted that when a shotgun start is employed, and play is reduced to 9 holes, no points will be awarded because all players will not have played the same holes).

8.  It is the total responsibility of individual competitors to secure entry to qualifying events including the NB Ladies Provincial Championship.  The NBGA will not be responsible for the failure of any competitor to submit their entry in sufficient time to compete in specific events.
