Introducing the NBGA Participant of the Year Competition - For more information click here
2011 ALLSTAR COMMUNICATIONS NB SENIOR MEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR - GUIDELINES
1. The competition is open to all male senior aged golfers (must have reached the age of 55 by August 22, 2011) who are 2011 members of a New Brunswick Golf Association (NBGA) member club.
2. Qualifying events for the competition will be all Senior Field Days, of 18 holes or more, at a member club which is in good standing, including 9 hole member clubs, which:
- do not conflict with the NB Men's Senior Championship,
- has properly registered with the NBGA and paid the $100.00 registration fee,
- has a field size of not less than 20 competitors
- full points will be awarded if the field size is 40 or larger; if between 20 and 39 players compete, the points awarded will be reduced proportionally
- the size of field is determined by the number of players who are playing under the same conditions; this shall include local rules
NOTE: Club Senior Field days with age limits lower than 55 years are still eligible to be counting events for the NB Senior Men's Player of the Year. Only those players who are Senior age eligible (refer to point #1) are eligible to receive points for the purpose of the NB Senior Player of the Year Competition.
3. Points will be scored toward the POY CHAMPIONSHIP as follows:

4. Points will be awarded to the top finishing age eligible players (eg. 18 hole invitational - points to the top 15 players 55 and above as per Senior age deadline).
5. The positions of non-NBGA member competitors will not be discarded when assigning points.
6. In the event of a tie for other than first place in a qualifying tournament, points for the tied positions will be shared by the tying competitors.
NOTE: If a non-Senior age eligible player wins an event and there are 2 or more age eligible players tied in the top spot among age eligible participants, the tie will not be broken and points will be shared by the tying competitors.
7. There is no minimum or maximum limit on the number of events that may be entered by a competitor.
8. In the event of a tie for the Championship or any place in the final rankings, the NB Senior results shall be used to break the tie. If a tie still exists between two or more competitors, the competitor with the best ranking heading into the final qualifying event will prevail, then the second event, and so on.
9. Interim results will be forwarded to the provincial newspapers and updated on the NBGA web site. The final rankings will be widely publicized with the winner being described as the "Allstar Communications NB Senior Men's Player of the Year." Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Championship and will be presented at the Annual Awards Dinner to be held in October.
11. The NBGA will not be responsible for the failure of competitors to secure entry into any or all events, nor will the Senior field days hold space for competitors contending for the Championship. It is the responsibility of the individual competitors to ensure their entry is reserved in sufficient time to compete in specific events.
